Victoria 4 Puerta del Sol

The staff, especially Adrian, were all fantastic; they're help with everything, from checking in to advice about the local area, made the city break wonderful. The breakfast was very good, great range of choice and very friendly staff who kept the breakfast well stocked. The location was perfect for experiencing Madrid life, its people, its culture and its food. Everything is within about 1-20 minute walk. The rooms were clean, roomy, air-conditioned and I would recommend a room with balcony and street view.

the location is very conveniently situated, near the centre, it’s about a 10 min walk to 2 different metro stations and a 15-20 min walk to the centre. the rooms looked better than in photos. the ceiling is tall enough so you don’t feel suffocated and the view is very nice. the bathroom is also spacious, it looked smaller in the picture but it’s actually great. we had both a toilet and bidet and bathtub. the beds were comfortable, water pressure was very good, we had hot water, towels were clean and the AC worked well. it’s true that at night it can get a bit noisy outside due to the fact that there are plenty of bars and restaurants on the ground floor, but we slept with closed windows and the noise didn’t bother us anymore. the staff is very nice, super helpful. it’s a great thing that they have 24h reception, you can come in late at night and someone will always be there to open the hotel door. didn’t need too much assistance, as we only stayed in the hotel during the night to sleep.

Location was fantastic. 1 mile from the museums in one direction and 1 mile from Plaza Mayor and the palace. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Bathroom and water pressure were great although tub felt slippery.

Fantastic location right in centre and a short easy walk to Plaza Mayor and Mercado San Miguel on one side and Prado and Retiro etc on the other. Room was spacious and balcony doors opened to provide light and fresh air Breakfast included in price was excellent though very busy! Great cafes, restaurants and stand up tapas bars all very close.
